Bringing you passion, sprit and raw energy from the streets of Cuba. En’Taya (en talla), meaning “in good form” in Cuban slang, is inspired by Cuba’s urban genre of the 90’s, “TIMBA”; a genre that mixes together Afro-Cuban Jazz with a splash of funk, a dab of disco, a pinch of R’n’B, and the distinct hard-hitting, percussive baseline of Reggaeton. Fusing foundations of traditional “salsa” with heavy horn lines, finger lickin’ jazz piano, electronic samples, pumping percussion, powerful vocals, and rap improv’, En’Taya is sure to get your heart pumping and feet tapping with undeniably hip moving songs. Formed in early 2013 by accomplished percussionist Arnoldo Gomez and singer Nicole Munoz, En’Taya brings together some of Brisbane’s most accomplished performers and Jazz Conservatorium graduates in a potent combination of musical flair. Beginning with a bang, the band has already performed at some of QLD/NSWs premier events including Byron Latin Fiesta, BEMAC’s “World By Night”, and national Latin music showcase Clave Contra Clave. En’Taya Musical Genre’s Latin, Tropical, Salsa, Afro-Cuban Jazz, Timba, Mozambique, Cubaton, Reggaeton.
